Spanish Universities
Spanish universities are all about coming less. Not only for its degradation teacher also, but because given their proliferation and easy access to the university today have come to trivialize and discredit the teaching diplomas. Hence you have to grab the Bologna Process, not as straws that the classic colloquial expression, but as the last plank that can save the drowning man. The case of the USAL, once a magnet for students everywhere, is paradigmatic: in the last decade has lost a quarter of their students. In any undertaking that it had happened like sales bleeding, so to speak, would have turned all alarms. The University of Salamanca, however, it seems installed in a peaceful slumber disturbed only by the unexplained resignation of their rector. Perhaps, say, the situation of our university is not so problematic, given the dismal overall picture of teaching in Spain. But is that in Salamanca, the university is not only a knowledge factory, but the only factory to dry there.
Not that it adds value to our society more, but constitutes the very essence of our reality and is the only institution that projects the image of Salamanca beyond our boundaries. That is, if the USAL is less, Salamanca, too. It seems, again, we are well aware of this situation. In a country where there is already a university in every corner and where they compete, not by the quality of teaching, but to give more facilities to approve, the University of Salamanca should firmly commit ourselves to the contrary: the singularity, the rigor and excellence. a claim would be differentiated in a society where every day is more homogenized equate knowledge and qualifications. Only by doing so will justify a student leaves the comfort of your home environment and come, as in the classic aphorism, learn to Salamanca. a Enrique Arias Vega (Bilbao) is a Spanish journalist and economist.
