The 550 members of the Academy include such prominent musicians as David Bowie, the computer scientist Web experts, IT and design journalists, as well as creative of pop, film, media and business, and “Father of the Internet” Vint Cerf, the creator of the US comic series Simpsons, Matt Groening, and Virgin founder Richard Branson. The journalistic offers, large media brands from the United States and Britain prevailed. The New York Times won the prizes for the best online stories and best practice.
The site of the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC was awarded as best news site. Best online newspaper was offering the British guardian last year according to the jurors.
